dpiper spotted by the river Ribble, brilliant in its camouflage against the stones and pebbles which line the banks. This one was drawn from sketches of similar birds and placed into the scene where I had observed them some years previous. The mass of pebbles took on a still life feel when it came to painting, and very therapeutic, however reflections really take on an abstract quality.
